This week in preparation reflect on these things

Call to Worship - Ephesians 4:4-6 "There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

Scripture Reading (Sermon Text) - Romans 12:3-8 "For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

We will pray as a congregation this prayer from the Puritan Prayer book called "The Valley of Vision".

"Lord Jesus,

May I never fail to come to the knowledge of the truth of the gospel, Never rely on my own convictions and resolutions. Never forget to come to thee in all my spiritual distresses and all the dissatisfactions experienced in creature comforts. Never fail to retreat to the Father who is full of grace through your sacrifice,

For I am blind, be thou my light,

ignorant, be thou my wisdom

self-willed, be thou my mind

Your cross was upraised to be my refuge,

Your blood streamed forth to wash me clean,

Your death occurred to give me a surety,

Your name is my property to save me

By You all heaven is poured into my heart,

But it is too narrow to comprehend your love.

I was a stranger, an outcast, a slave, a rebel,

but Your cross has brought me near,

has softened my heart,

has made me thy Father’s child,

has admitted me to thy family,

has made me joint-heir with thyself".
