We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Emmaus Church a great one!
What Should I Expect?
What is the culture at Emmaus?
Sundays at Emmaus are full of celebration, reflection, and have a casual feel. We view our Sunday’s like a family reunion gathered around the table. We invite you to come as you are and you can expect to receive a warm welcome. And if it is your first time, feel free to pick out a book from the welcome table to take home, on us!
What happens on Sundays?
In total, an Emmaus Church gathering is about 90 minutes in length. Gatherings begin with the Emmaus Church band leading the church in music - song lyrics are displayed on screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After a reading we call the Call to Worship, a couple of songs, and reading of the sermon passage is complete, one of our pastors will come out to share a gospel-centered and hope-filled message about Jesus. The service will then conclude with sharing of Communion, done every week, a few more songs responding to and celebrating Jesus, and then the pastor will send us out with a Benediction to go live out our mission.
What if I have Children?
Every week at our Sunday Gathering Emmaus our Emmaus Kids volunteers plan a gospel-centered lesson with games and sometimes crafts for any children ages 3-10. We also have volunteers that work with any children under the age of 3 in our Emmaus Babies ministry. When you first arrive there will be volunteers with blue or orange lanyards that can check your children in. You can find more information on our Emmaus Kids page.
