We Get it

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and visiting a new church can be nerve-racking. We want to ensure that your first experience an Emmaus Gathering is a good one!

What to expect

Sundays at Emmaus are full of celebration, reflection, and have a casual feel. We view our Sunday’s like a family reunion gathered around the table. We invite you to come as you are and you can expect to receive a warm welcome. And if it is your first time, feel free to pick out a book from the welcome table to take home, on us! Let us answer some FAQ’s.

what happens at a gathering?

In total, an Emmaus Church gathering is about 90 minutes in length. Gatherings begin with the Emmaus Church band leading the church in music - song lyrics are displayed on screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After a reading we call the Call to Worship, a couple of songs, and reading of the sermon passage is complete, one of our pastors will come out to share a gospel-centered and hope-filled message about Jesus. The service will then conclude with sharing of Communion, done every week, a few more songs responding to and celebrating Jesus, and then the pastor will send us out with a Benediction to go live out our mission.

Where do you meet/what time/where can i park?

Emmaus Church meets in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver. You can usually find us at the Grant Humphreys Mansion, but sometimes scheduling conflicts arise. To be sure you arrive to the right location, click here. The Gathering will always start at 10:30 AM no matter where we are meeting that week!

Parking for our Gatherings is located either in the attached lot on the east side of the mansion, or directly across the street on 8th and Pearl on the east side of the mansion as well, and the best part is, its free!

What about my kids?

Every week at our Sunday Gathering Emmaus our Emmaus Kids volunteers plan a gospel-centered lesson with games and sometimes crafts for any children ages 3-10. We also have volunteers that work with any children under the age of 3 in our Emmaus Babies ministry. When you first arrive there will be volunteers with blue or orange lanyards that can check your children in. You can find more information on our Emmaus Kids page.
